Build Your First App

No code. Just describe what you want.

AI Skills Unlocked · Free Guide

You do not need to be technical. You do not need a developer. You just need an idea and the ability to explain it in plain English. A tool called Lovable takes what you describe and builds a real, working app you can share with a link. Let us walk through it together.

What you'll need

  • A free Lovable account (sign up at lovable.dev, it takes a minute)
  • One idea for something that would help your business or your customers
  • About 30 minutes and a cup of coffee

1. Get your idea clear

Before you open anything, finish this one sentence out loud:

Your one-sentence idea
An app that helps [who] do [what].

For example: "An app that helps my catering clients pick a menu and request a quote." Or: "An app that helps new clients book a consultation with me." When you can say it in one sentence, you are ready. Do not worry about how it looks or how it works yet. That is Lovable's job.

Tip: Keep it to one job for now. One app, one thing it helps people do. You can always add more later.

2. Open Lovable and describe it

Log in, click to start a new project, and type your idea into the chat box like you are texting a very capable assistant. Here are three starter prompts you can copy, paste, and edit with your own details.

Starter prompt: a booking page
Build a simple booking page for my business. Visitors should be able to pick a service, choose a date and time, and enter their name, email, and phone number to request an appointment. Keep it clean and friendly. My business is a hair studio called Rooted Beauty.
Starter prompt: a client intake form
Build a new-client intake form for my coaching business. Ask for their name, email, what they want help with, their biggest challenge right now, and how they heard about me. Add a friendly welcome message at the top and a thank-you message after they submit.
Starter prompt: a simple directory
Build a simple directory page that lists local women-owned businesses. Each listing should show a business name, a short description, a category, and a link. Add a search box at the top so visitors can filter by category. Make it warm and easy to browse.

Lovable will think for a moment and then show you a working version on the right side of your screen. That is your app. It is real.
